The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a bank robbery involving a suspicious package which occurred in the 3300 block of South Hualapai Way.

Reports say an adult male, possibly white, entered the bank around 9:39 a.m. The masked man was carrying a gun but did not fire the weapon. After the robbery, he left a backpack inside the bank and told employees it was an explosive.

Technicians determined there was no explosive device.

No injuries were reported. The suspect is still at large. The suspect is described as a male, 5'5"-5'9" with a thin build.

South Hualapai Way from Desert Inn Road to Spring Mountain Road was shut down, and businesses in the area were evacuated as LVMPD investigated the backpack. The roads have since opened back up to the public.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
