Police are investigating two separate robberies Monday morning that occurred within 15 minutes of each other.

The first happened around 4:52 a.m. A black male suspect with a tall, thin build entered a Green Valley Grocery Store at 4480 South Durango Drive. The man pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. He obtained cash and cigarettes, then fled towards Flamingo Road.

The second robbery happened around 5:09 a.m. near 8540 West Desert Inn Road. A tall, black male entered a Vons, approached the slot attendant, pointed a gun at her and demanded money. He left the store after obtaining the cash in an unknown direction of travel.

Officials have not confirmed whether or not the two robberies are connected.
