LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — It was a busy Sunday for local police departments as they were investigating multiple deaths in the valley, including a shooting at a gated community near Jones Boulevard and Robindale Road.

Las Vegas police say just after 3:30 p.m., two men were fighting when one shot the other, leaving him dead. The other was shot in the leg but was expected to survive.

Across town, police were trying to piece together how a man wound up dead inside a car at an apartment complex near Nellis Boulevard and Desert Inn Road.

Neighbors said the car had been parked there since Thursday before someone called police Sunday afternoon after noticing the man.

In Henderson, a Saturday evening shooting left a man dead and another injured on Clarity Court, near Eastern Avenue and Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

"We heard what we thought were fireworks, firecrackers going off at first and then they started again. It was more than a dozen shots we heard in the beginning," Robert Madrid, said one neighbor.

For him, the barrage of shots nearby caused him and his family to seek better shelter at his home.

"I heard some yelling in between there, and then we heard another six shots, so we immediately ran over to our farthest bedroom out of the way," Madrid said.

Police did not immediately identify a suspect in this shooting in Henderson.
