A man was arrested on murder charges after a deadly shooting at the 5100 block of Ridge Court on Saturday.

Police received the call around 9:41 a.m. Arriving officers found an adult male lying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Officers took a male suspect into custody without incident.

An investigation revealed the suspect to be 67-year-old Peter Caris. Just before the shooting, the victim came to Caris' house, and the two men got into a verbal altercation. Caris then fired several shots, striking the victim multiple times.

Caris apparently knew the victim, and the dispute may have been the result of an earlier encounter between Caris and a friend of the victim.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at 702-828-3521. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
