Las Vegas police reported Sunday that they found a homeless man dead near downtown Friday morning.

Around 9 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the alleyway of 600 South 10th Street, near Bonneville Avenue, for reports of a homeless camp. Responding patrol officers contacted the individuals and discovered an unresponsive man with obvious signs of trauma to his face. Medical personal responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

The man was identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Louis Arkansas.

This is the 30th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.
