An inmate who had escaped from the Ely Conservation Camp was apprehended in east Las Vegas Tuesday.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Apprehension Team located 25-year-old Courtland Kimble at an apartment complex in the 5200 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near Nellis Boulevard.

Kimble had escaped from the Ely minimum security facility on Oct. 5. He was serving a 15-year prison sentence for robbery with a deadly weapon. Prison officials originally believed he was headed west.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

The Criminal Apprehension Team is a joint task force comprised of members from Las Vegas police, Henderson Police Department and the FBI that works to apprehend violent wanted suspects.
