UPDATE: Joseph Youmans is the driver arrested in connection with Thursday's shooting and pursuit of a U-Haul truck that ended near the intersection of North Martin L. King Boulevard and East Craig Road.

Joseph Youmans was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and faces charges of:
  • Discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle
  • Discharging a gun within or from a vehicle
  • Assault with a deadly weapon
  • Driver disobey a police officer/endangering other person or property
  • Speeding
The second occupant of the U-Haul truck was interviewed and released.

Two men are in custody after leading police on a wild chase while driving U-Haul.

Las Vegas police were first notified about the stolen U-Haul around 10 p.m. Thursday. The caller told police that someone had stolen the truck and shot at someone trying to stop them.

Police officers spotted the stolen U-Haul soon after in the downtown area. They attempted to stop it, but the driver kept going.

Officers continued to pursue the stolen vehicle, including by air. Police say the U-Haul drove against traffic in its attempted escape.

The U-Haul was traveling westbound on Craig Road when stop sticks were used in an attempt to stop it near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police say the vehicle continued through a business complex thought and attempted to get back onto Craig from Scott Robinson. That is when a patrol car struck the driver’s side and stopped the truck.

The driver and the passenger were both arrested.
