A person was seen fleeing a home after a fire Thursday evening.
Around 5:02 p.m., the Clark County Fire Department responded to the fire at 4815 Newton Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.
Upon arrival, Command reported heavy smoke and flames showing from a single-family dwelling. Crews assumed a defensive posture until they could knock down the bulk of the fire. Knockdown was reported at 5:13 p.m.
The house was vacant at the time and has had a previous fire in the past. Neighbors reported seeing someone fleeing the home after the fire started.
No one was found in the residence and no injuries were reported.
Damages have not been estimated.
