A pedestrian was killed late Tuesday evening when struck by a vehicle in the southeast valley.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirms that the deadly collision occurred near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue around 10 p.m.

The victim was hit by a truck and dragged several feet down the road. He died after being transported to a local hospital.

The man was identified as 39-year-old Gerrell Antoine Govan. His cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma from the crash.

Police say the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk and the driver, who did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, stayed on the scene.

There have been 116 traffic-related fatalities in Las Vegas this year and 46 pedestrians have been killed.

The Clark County coroner will release the name and age of the victim after relatives have been notified.
