Pedestrian killed near Las Vegas Blvd., St. Rose

UPDATE: The road was reopened to traffic at about 8 a.m.

EARLIER STORY: A pedestrian was killed early Thursday morning on Las Vegas Boulevard north of St. Rose Parkway. It was reported at 4:35 a.m.

Police are on the scene and Las Vegas Boulevard is currently closed. Motorists should seek alternate routes.

It appears that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian is owned by M Resort.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the victim is a 25-year-old man. He was pronounced dead on the scene. NHP says the pedestrian was in the travel lane when he was hit. The Clark County coroner will release name after relatives have been notified.
