A 44-year-old Henderson man was struck and killed by a pickup late Tuesday night while he was attempting to cross Boulder Highway.

The man was struck about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday by a northbound Toyota Tacoma driven by Wilfredo Sanchez, 67, of Las Vegas, as he was attempting to cross Boulder Highway at King Street. The man was apparently crossing Boulder Highway outside of a crosswalk.

The man died at the scene. Sanchez and his passenger were not injured.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the collision; however, Sanchez voluntarily submitted to blood testing. A preliminary investigation also indicated that speed does not appear to be a factor in the collision. The crash remains under investigation.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after he has been positively identified and his family has been notified.

The roadway was closed for about three hours while fatal accident investigators conducted their investigation.
