A pedestrian from Alabama died after she was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday.

It happened around 11:20 a.m. near Boulder Highway and Sun Valley Drive, which is near Harmon Avenue. Police said the woman was crossing Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Trauma where she died of her injuries. She was a 45-year-old from Semmes, Alabama. The Clark County coroner will release her name.

The 82-year-old driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene and did not show signs of impairment.

This is the 27th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police's jurisdiction in 2017.
