An adult male pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle near East Desert Inn and South Mojave Road.
The incident was reported at 6:42 a.m. According to initial reports, the pedestrian was walking on a sidewalk when he was struck. Witnesses told police that it looked like the driver, who was exiting an apartment complex, was in a hurry to get on the road.
The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Clark County coroner identified him as 68-year-old Rene Barreto.
