A 65-year-old female pedestrian died after being hit by a car outside a crosswalk in June.

Around noon June 29, a Dodge Durango was traveling southbound on Maryland Parkway in the left travel lane, north of Vegas Valley Drive, when the Dodge struck the pedestrian.

Police said the pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Trauma with a normal heart rate and blood pressure. Approximately 3 hours after her arrival, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Fatal Detail did not respond to the initial crash.

On Sept. 6, the Fatal Detail received the coroner reports, which found the cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

The crash marks the 70th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2016.
