Pedestrian IDed after hit by car on Boulder Hwy.

A 26-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle on Boulder Highway Saturday night.

Police reported around 11:45 p.m., a Fiat 500L was traveling south on Boulder Highway, north of Tropicana Avenue, with a green traffic signal when the pedestrian entered the path of the car and he was struck. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk but did not have the right of way.

35-year-old Justin Roberts brought the Fiat to a stop and remained at the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:11 a.m. Sunday. The man was identified as Sammy Rey Robledo of Las Vegas.

This was the 78th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
