One year ago today, Las Vegas had a very rare visitor - an exotic rodent was on the loose at a strip mall near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard.
Animal control said it was a Patagonian mara, which is typically found in South America.
With no owner found, the little rodent was taken to a wildlife park in Arizona where he was lovingly named "Diego."
13 Action News reached out to see how he was doing, and his trainers say he's living the good life.
Wildlife representatives say they're still trying to mate him with a female Patagonian mara named Daisy.
