Firefighters extinguish brush fire near I-15, Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Clark County Fire Department responded to an outside fire near Interstate 15 and the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday morning.

CCFD says crews responded to a reported fire just after 6 a.m. at 3150 W. Twain Ave., near Sammy Davis Jr. Drive and Spring Mountain Road.

Upon arrival, the first engine announced that it appeared to be a brush fire with limited access.

The Nevada Highway Patrol was advised to shut down the I-15 and Union Pacific was notified to shut down the railroad while operations were taking place, according to the CCFD.

At about 6:35 a.m. crews were able to extinguish the fire was knocked down.

NHP and Union Pacific were then notified of the update and that there was some residual smoke from the extinguished fire.

The CCFD reported no injuries or further involvement in the fire with a cause under investigation.
