UPDATE: Memorial for woman killed in Thursday crash

UPDATE: A candlelight memorial was held Friday night for a young valley mom who died after she was struck by a vehicle the day before.

"My daughter deserves better than this and I want better for her and her kids," said Armetreius Lewis.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A woman died in a crash Thursday evening.
 
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. near East Owens Avenue and North Walnut Road.
 
Police said a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Owens Avenue during rainy weather where the driver lost control while changing lanes. The truck rotated clockwise and ran off the right side of the roadway onto the sidewalk where it struck a pedestrian.
 
The 26-year-old pedestrian was initially transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition but died of her injuries at 5:22 p.m.
 
The driver of the Chevrolet showed no signs of impairment.
 
This is the 3rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2017.
