UPDATE: Man arrested for shooting on Desert Inn Road that left 1 dead, 1 critical

UPDATE NOV. 6: On Nov.  5, officers arrested Johnathon Stamps in connection with the Oct. 24 shooting that left one man dead and another in critical condition. Stamps was found at an apartment complex located in the 1100 block of East Desert Inn Road and taken into custody.  

Stamps was then transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with this case.  

Stamps was also booked on a fugitive warrant, as well as charges of robbery and burglary stemming from a separate investigation into an event that occurred earlier in October.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one dead and one in critical condition Tuesday. 

The shooting happened at 1135 E. Desert Inn Road around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Arriving officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims pronounced deceased on scene and the second victim was transported to Sunrise Trauma where he is in critical condition.

LVMPD Homicide Section says the victims arrived in the parking lot in a pickup truck. They met up with an unknown black male adult who got into the truck with the victims. After several minutes, shots were fired inside of the truck and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male adult with short dread lock style hair. He was last seen wearing a baseball hat, dark hoodie and jeans.

The Clark County coroner will identify the deceased after relatives have been notified.
