Suspect arrested in double homicide

Second update: Marcial Casarez in connection with this incident. Casarez was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and currently faces two counts of Murder with a Deadly Weapon.

UPDATE: Police confirm two people are now dead from the shooting downtown Monday evening.

A female was found dead inside a car outside a restaurant on Charleston Boulevard and Fremont Street.

A male was transported to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. He was identified as 32-year-old Jamel Colbert. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the couple were in a dating relationship but the shooting does not appear to be domestic related.

The suspect is still outstanding. Police described him as a 6'2" black man wearing a red hoodie.

Police are investigating a homicide.

It happened on Monday evening near downtown Las Vegas. Police say one person has been reported dead near Eastern Avenue and Charleston Boulevard.

There is no information available on what led to the murder, or how the victim died.

There are two scenes to this incident. The first scene is near Eastern Avenue and Charleston Boulevard and the second scene is near Charleston Boulevard and Fremont Street.
