One person was killed in a dirt bike crash Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the desert area about a mile from the intersection of South Fort Apache and Warm Springs roads.
A 2005 Honda dirt bike was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Police said the dirt bike was cresting a hill with a steep drop off on the other side. The bike and rider went over the drop off and landed on a dirt path below.
The rider was transported by air to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced dead. The Clark County coroner identified him as 39-year-old Edward Andrew Powell of Las Vegas. He died of blunt force injuries due to the dirt bike crash.
Police said this will not be counted a traffic-related fatality because the event occurred outside a designated roadway.
