The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a case of two sets of human remains found in the desert near the Virgin River Gorge.
On Monday, dispatch received a call of human remains found and Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives responded to the area.
With the assistance of the FBI Evidence Response Team, a thorough investigation of the area has been conducted over the last four days. All evidence located has been sent to the FBI Crime Lab for scientific examination to determine the identities of the remains.
According to KSL in Salt Lake City, the family of Jerry and Susan McFalls said the Mohave County Sheriff's Office notified them about the two bodies that had been discovered. The McFalls have been missing from their Littlefield, Arizona, home since January. The family also said they were asked to expedite dental records.
This investigation is ongoing.
