The Nevada Department of Public Safety has released its monthly crash report for the month of May.
There were 79 fatal crashes in May of 2019 compared to this years number with only 62.
Some key points highlighted from the report include:
- 99 fatalities occurred on Nevada's roadways so far in 2020, down from the 115 at this time last year.
- Pedestrian fatalities are down 16%.
- Occupant fatalities are up 10%.
- Clark County is ranked highest in fatalities among the whole state.
With COVID-19 being a huge factor in having less drivers on the road, the numbers for Nevada roadway crashes has drastically decreased, the department says.
