On Wednesday, the North Las Vegas Police Department will hold its 16th Annual Raul Elizondo Day at Elizondo Elementary School.
The school was dedicated in 1998 and named in honor of Officer Raul Elizondo, who was killed in the line of duty on January 30, 1995.
Police officers from across Southern Nevada joined students for a day of events which will included classroom activities, a ceremony honoring the fallen officer, police demonstrations and a parade of public safety and emergency response vehicles.
