The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

6:58 P.M.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report a critical crash that occurred on South Pecos Road, south of East Flamingo Road. According to officials, a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva was traveling north on S. Pecos Rd. and a 2013 Acura TSX was behind it in the same lane. Police say the Acura rear ended the Chevy, causing both cars to spin and go off to the side of the road. The Chevy then overturned after striking the curb. The 17-year-old driver of the Acura exhibited signs of impairment, according to officers. The unrestrained passenger in the Acura was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. One of the passengers in the Captiva suffered serious injuries while two others suffered minor ones.

Las Vegas police say homicide detectives are taking over a missing persons case in the 5700 block of Garden Grove, near Flamingo Road and Rainbow Boulevard. READ MORE
