Las Vegas breaking news for October 4, 2018

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for October 4, 2018.

2:40 P.M.

Las Vegas police said a person suspected of stealing a vehicle at Meineke Car Care hit three vehicles and then rolled the stolen vehicle in the 700 block of North Rancho Drive, near Bonanza Road. One person was injured in the crash, reported around 2:15 p.m. It is unknown who was injured. READ MORE

1:09 A.M.

Police say an elderly pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road. The pedestrian is in critical condition. The driver stayed on scene and is not believed to be impaired. Portions of Boulder, Flamingo and Nellis Boulevard are closed. UPDATE OCT. 8: The Clark County coroner notified Las Vegas police on Oct. 6 that the pedestrian, identified as 80-year-old Khalil Elshahed, died of his injuries at Sunrise Hospital.
