Las Vegas breaking news for November 30, 2017

Southwest flight #1111 was forced to make an emergency landing at McCarran International Airport due to a mechanical issue. The flight left Phoenix, Arizona, but was diverted before reaching its destination in Reno. The plane landed safely at 1:14 p.m.

There were 117 people onboard the flight at the time of landing. Crews are now examining the hydraulic system.

12 P.M.

Clark County School District police say a 10-year-old male student "lost control" at Garside Jr. High School and had to be subdued by several teachers. READ MORE

OVERNIGHT

Police say there was a shooting in the 6600 block of Blue Sea Street, near Charleston Boulevard and Christy Lane. An altercation took place between two women and a man. Another car stopped next to the group, and a person got out and shot the man. The man is having surgery in the hospital.
