Las Vegas breaking news for May 29, 2018

This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for May 29, 2018.

8:52 P.M.

A man is dead and a 3-week-old infant was shot in the chest near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road around 7:30 p.m. The infant was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. Las Vegas police say the shooting took place at the 3100 block of Key Largo Drive. One person of interest has been detained.

6:13 P.M.

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Jeep near Skye Canyon Park Drive and Oso Blanca Road. READ MORE.

4:48 P.M.

All lanes closed on eastbound Desert Inn Road near Valley View Boulevard due to a 3-car crash. Two of the vehicles involved rolled over. Police say one person involved in the crash fled on foot but was later apprehended. No major injuries reported.

4:20 P.M.

Clark County firefighters say that a semi-trailer caught fire around 2:55 p.m. at 1500 East Katie Avenue, near Flamingo Road and Maryland Parkway. Several other trailers were nearby, all of which had large amounts of combustible materials. The fire was knocked down around 4:20 p.m. No injuries were reported, and evidence at the scene suggests squatters may have been occupying some of the trailers in the area.

10:52 A.M.

The woman is safely in custody without incident. Interstate 15 has reopened. 

10:47 A.M.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 15 are closed at Warm Springs Road due to a woman threatening to jump off the freeway overpass. 

9:15 A.M.

Henderson police say they received a call about an armed robbery at the Check City near Boulder Highway and Lake Mead Parkway around 8 a.m. A man was wearing a surgical mask and carrying a rifle. At least one shot was fired by the man as police chased him. He was eventually arrested at an apartment complex on Taylor Street. It is not sure if the man was shooting at police or the gun went off accidentally. 

8:30 A.M.

Henderson police are working an armed robbery near Lake Mead and Boulder Highway. Possible shots fired by suspect. No other details at this time.
