The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

7:45 P.M.

UPDATE (3/31/20)
The Clark County Coroner has identified the pedestrian as 91-year-old Alex Nick Panos. His city of residence is unknown. The cause of death was blunt force injuries and the incident was deemed an accident.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal crash on Buffalo Drive near Summerlin Parkway. A white Ford van struck a pedestrian who was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was killed and impairment was not suspected of the driver.

5:35 P.M.

UPDATE (3/30/20):
The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 36-year-old Arnel Sylvester Bruce Adams from Las Vegas. The cause of death was gunshot wound to the chest and it is listed as a homicide.

Las Vegas police said a homicide investigation is underway in the 6000 block of Allred Place, near Boulder Highway and Russell Road. A fight broke out between two men with one fatally shooting the other. A person was taken into custody, according to police.

1:30 P.M.
One person is recovering at a Las Vegas valley hospital after a fire shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Florrie Avenue near Twain and Boulder Highway. Upon arrival crews say they discovered a well involved fire in the garage of a single story home that had extended into the attic. They were able to get the fire knocked down just before 1 p.m., authorities say. American Red Cross is assisting 3 adults and 2 children that were displaced by the event. The cause of the fire is still undetermined and the damages have not yet been estimated.

9:47 A.M.
Las Vegas police are on the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian near Sloan and East Charleston Boulevard. Sloan is closed in both directions just south of Charleston. No other details at this time.

9:30 A.M.
Neighbors near Tenaya Way and Elkhorn Road area are asked to shelter in place as Las Vegas police respond to a man barricading himself inside a home in the area. Police say they responded to reports of a man with a gun on Little Brook Street. He is refusing to leave the residence. Only the residential street is closed at this time and traffic on larger roads nearby is not impacted, according to authorities.

6:12 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue says crews responded to a fire at a vacant, boarded up motel on First Street near Bridger Avenue and Main Street. Squatters in the building were escorted out, according to firefighters, and there were no reports of injuries.

According to authorities, the man was home alone at a residence on Linda Vista Street (near Arville and Sahara) when he heard voices at his back door. Officers say that's when the man grabbed a gun and confronted two other men on the property. One of them came toward the homeowner, police say. The homeowner then shot the man in the shoulder and the other took off running. The incident remains under investigation.
