The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:47 P.M.

Las Vegas police say an accident occurred between a Metro partol vehicle and a woman's vehicle in the intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and West Tropicana Avenue while the officer was heading to the barricade on Windansea Street. Both the officer and the woman were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and West Tropicana Avenue will be closed for several hours while police investigate.

6:10 P.M.

Las Vegas police responded to a burglary call in the 3900 block of Windansea Street, near South Durango Drive and West Flamingo Road. They discovered a man had entered a residence and refused to exit. There is no one else inside the residence besides the suspect. SWAT is on scene and it is being treated as a barricade. The investigation is ongoing.
