The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

6:14 P.M.
Nye County Sheriffs Office Deputies are on the scene of a double fatal accident on Gamebird at Simmons in Pahrump. This is a one-vehicle accident involving two occupants both of which are deceased. Nevada Highway Patrol's Major Incident Team is en-route to assist.

Gamebird is closed from Simmons west to the next cross street, Vasco, and will be for some time. Please avoid the area.

9:45 A.M.
UPDATE AUG. 20: The Clark County Coroner has identified the second body as 76-year-old Sandra Askew from Las Vegas. Her cause of death is also still pending.

UPDATE AUG. 3: The Clark County Coroner has identified one of the bodies as that of 83-year-old Ralph Douglas Askew from Las Vegas. His cause of death is still pending.

Las Vegas police are investigating 2 deaths in a home on Cedar Bluffs Way near Tenaya Way and West Lake Mead Boulevard. Police went to the residence after receiving a call requesting a welfare check. The call was received at 7:43 a.m.

UPDATE AUG. 5: Las Vegas police said they arrested 33-year-old Maurice Lopez in connection with the deadly stabbing that occurred in the 4800 block of W. Richmar Avenue in July.

UPDATE JULY 29: The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 24-year-old Eric Ropeti Tia. Tia was killed by a stab wound to the chest, a homicide.

ORIGINAL STORY
Las Vegas police say a man is dead after a stabbing during a house party at a short-term rental property near Decatur and Silverado Ranch boulevards around 11 p.m. on Wednesday. According to authorities, around 200 people were at the party when the man was stabbed. He later died at the hospital. It is unclear what led to the attack and police say they currently have no suspect.

Also, as people ran to escape the scene when officers arrived, police say there was a vehicle crash in the area. No word on whether anyone was hurt in the crash.
