The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:39 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a woman hit by a vehicle at East Tropicana Avenue and South Eastern Avenue. She was take to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers determined the driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. The driver was then arrested and transported to jail. Avoid the area while the investigation takes place.

UPDATE 10:54 A.M.

UPDATE (7/22/20): The Clark County Coroner has identified the girl as 15-year-old Megan Rusley from Las Vegas. Her cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma, an accident.

Las Vegas police say the 15-year-old girl who was hospitalized after being hit by a car on West Charleston Boulevard near Sky Vista Drive Sunday night has died. Her death marks the 52nd traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2020. The crash remains under investigation.

12:10 A.M.
Las Vegas police confirm a report of a shooting on Las Vegas Boulevard near Bellagio hotel-resort. Upon arrival, officers found shell casings but no victims. Detectives are currently investigating the matter. Vegas Boulevard is open to traffic at this time. READ MORE

OVERNIGHT
One teen is recovering from critical injuries after she was hit by a car, according to Las Vegas police. The crash happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night on W. Charleston Boulevard west of Sky Vista Drive. Police say a 2011 Audi Q5 was traveling west on Charleston as a group of people (two adults and two minors) were in a desert area nearby. The group entered the roadway attempting to run to the south side of Charleston. That's when the car hit a 15-year-old girl, police say, forcing her to the ground. She was transported to the Children's Hospital of Nevada at UMC in critical condition. The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment, police say. The crash remains under investigation.
