LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:26 P.M.
Clark County Fire Department responded to multiple calls of a fire at a strip mall at 350 North Nellis Boulevard. When crews arrived they found heavy fire on the roof. A second alarm was called and additional resources were brought to the scene. Firefighters knocked down the fire at 8:58 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the dollar loss has not been determined at this time. There have been no injuries reported.

11:46 A.M.
NHP responded to a fatal rollover crash on the US95 northbound at Clark County Mile Marker 94 (near the Kyle Canyon turnoff). Investigators have determined that the driver of a 2005 silver Ford F-250 pickup truck was approaching slower traffic while traveling in the left lane. While attempting to avoid the slower vehicles, the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle and ran off of the roadway and overturned. The driver, who was the lone occupant, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. Investigators believe that speed was a factor and impairment is suspected. The crash remains under investigation. This is the 2nd fatal crash being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol this year; the first occurring in Lovelock earlier today.

The Clark County coroner has identified the deceased as 70-year-old Richard Lee Olson of Indian Springs. His cause of death was blunt force injuries. His death was ruled accidental.
