LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

UPDATE 6:30 P.M.
Around 3:16 p.m. NHP was called to fatal rollover crash on I-215 eastbound at South Valle Verde Drive. The preliminary investigation shows that a 2001 silver Honda sedan was traveling eastbound on I-215 at South Valle Verde Drive when the driver lost control of the car and entered the right shoulder. The car then overturned across the embankment and the unrestrained driver was ejected. The car then came to rest on the South Valle Verde Drive eastbound on-ramp. The 17-year-old female driver died from injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. This crash remains under investigation. This is the Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command's third fatal crash of 2020.
Investigators are asking if there is anyone who witnessed this crash to please contact the Nevada Highway Patrol at JPazos@dps.state.nv.us or dial *NHP.

UPDATE 4:06 P.M.
Nevada Highway Patrol reports that the fatal crash at I-215 and South Valle Verde Drive is a single vehicle rollover. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Valle Verde eastbound ramp is down to one lane. Use caution.

The Clark County coroner later identified the deceased as 17-year-old Kira Isabel Bird from Las Vegas.

3:16 P.M.
Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal crash at the eastbound I-215 and South Valle Verde Drive on-ramp. The RTC is reporting that all lanes are blocked at the location. Avoid the area.

1:09 P.M.
Clark County fire responded to a 2-alarm fire call on Sahara Avenue, west of Jones Boulevard. Multiple units were called to the scene to fight the flames. No injuries were initially reported with the cause of the blaze under investigation.

3:13 A.M.
Police report a fatal motorcycle crash at the intersection of East Cheyenne Avenue and North Pecos Road. A motorcycle turned into the path of a Republic Services truck that had a green light, according to police. The truck could not stop and struck the motorcyclist. Impairment was suspected of the rider who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The rider was later identified by the Clark County coroner as 55-year-old Phillip Jackson from Las Vegas. Cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle crash.

2:50 A.M.
Police and fire crews are investigating a scene where a body was found inside a trailer near Lake Mead and Lamb boulevards. READ MORE
