The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

4:27 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle near Bermuda Road and East Robindale Road. The motorcycle rider has been confirmed deceased. No details are available yet on how the crash occurred. Please avoid the area.

12:20 P.M.
Las Vegas police say two men beat up then stole a man's wallet at Sam's Town parking garage. The victim's injuries were non-life-threatening. The suspects fled on foot and have not been caught yet.

11:29 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responds to bedroom fire at 4600 Providence Lane near Meadows Lane and Decatur Boulevard. Started by candle in bedroom. Put out by residents with garden hose.

11:09 A.M.
Las Vegas police say a man was shot around 11 a.m. in the 500 block of East Sahara Avenue near Paradise Road. The man was transported to area hospital with serious injuries. A person has been arrested. No other information is available at this time.

10:29 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue on the scene of a garage fire at a two-story house at 4813 Yellow Pine Lane near Decatur Boulevard and Lone Mountain Road. No injuries reported at this time.

10:30 P.M.
DEC. 31 UPDATE: The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 45-year-old David McMillam from Las Vegas. McMillam's death was due to a gunshot wound to the abdomen and his death was ruled a homicide.

Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide at an apartment complex near Eastern and Tropicana. Investigators say they received calls from residents in the area about gunshots around 10:30 p.m. Christmas day. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man who had been shot at least once. First responders brought the victim to the hospital where he later died. There's no word on if anyone has been arrested. Police urge the public to call Crimestoppers if they have any details.
