This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for May 1, 2017.
A bicyclist was struck and killed by a SUV near North Decatur Boulevard and Vegas Drive shortly before 8:45 p.m. Northbound and southbound Decatur is closed between Vegas Drive and Washington while police investigate.
The bicyclist was later identified as 35-year-old Benito San Pedro Augustin of Las Vegas.
According to police, a 60-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street using a walker when he got hit by a car.
It happened in front of Gold Coast Casino on Flamingo Road.
Police do believe the pedestrian was using the crosswalk, or at least close to it, while crossing the street.
"People with walkers are a little bit slower," says Sgt. Robert Stauffer with Metro Police Department. "You have to double check that there's nobody in the intersection who may have started walking when the light was there."
Flamingo Road, between Arville Street and Valley View Boulevard, is expected to re-open within the hour after a pedestrian was killed by a car in the area earlier today.
The pedestrian was later identified as 60-year-old Thomas Salmela from Las Vegas.
A pedestrian has been hit and killed on Flamingo Road, near Valley View Boulevard. Right now, Flamingo is closed between Valley View and Arville.
