Las Vegas police investigate deadly 'self-defense' shooting

This is a roundup of all the breaking news stories from around the Las Vegas valley for June 15, 2017.

10 P.M.

Las Vegas police responded to a call of a citizen shooting a man that was trying to enter his home in the area of East Craig Road and Aviation Street around 8:50 p.m. When officers arrived they found one person deceased.

Homicide detectives are responding to investigate.

9:30 A.M.

The standoff on Washington Avenue, near Decatur Boulevard has ended. The man was apprehended after officers deployed a K9. 

The man suffered minor bite injury.

8:00 A.M.

Las Vegas police are reporting a standoff at a home on the 4800 block of West Washington Avenue, near North Decatur Boulevard.

LVMPD originally responded to a call of a man on a roof who was trying to harm himself with a knife, but the man moved to the backyard of a nearby home once police arrived at the scene.

Police have attempted to subdue him with non-lethal (bean bag) shotgun rounds but were unable to take him into custody.

Several streets in the area have been shut down due to the incident.
