This is a roundup of breaking news stories from around the Las Vegas valley for June 1, 2017.

11:54 P.M.

Las Vegas police are working an officer-involved shooting. There is a large police presence near Owens Ave. and Mt. Hood St. We are still waiting on police to give an update on the situation. 

10:55 P.M.

Las Vegas police say a man was stabbed outside an Albertson's near West Tropicana Avenue and South Jones Boulevard at 9:53 p.m. tonight. The victim is stable and receiving treatment. The circumstances of the stabbing are unknown at this time.

4:16 P.M.

Police were called to the 4300 block of Cartegena Way, near Mountain Vista Street and Harmon Avenue, around 3:17 p.m. after a woman's son fired a gun inside the house. The woman, an 8-year-old child, and a 9-year-old child hid in a closet until police arrived. Police are currently trying to reach the son on the bullhorn. SWAT is en route to the scene. The son has a history of mental illness, and it is unknown if he is alive or dead at this point, or if there are any injuries.

2:30 P.M.

2:20 P.M.

A truck struck a light pole with 10 lines that were pulled down with it on Sahara Avenue between Sandhill Road and Wyoming Avenue around noon. No injuries were reported. Sahara Avenue is expected to be closed in the area through Friday.
