Fireworks possibly to blame for North Las Vegas house fire

Here is a roundup of all of the breaking news around the Las Vegas valley for July 2, 2017.

9:40 P.M.

Firefighters believe a fire near Owens and H Street could have been started by fireworks.

The family attempted to put the fire out with a water hose but with no luck. The family was able to leave the home and no injuries have been reported.

6:19 P.M.

A homeless person got into an altercation with three Hispanic males in the parking lot of a McDonald's at 5811 East Charleston Boulevard around 5 p.m. One of the males stabbed the victim in the back and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans while riding on a moped. The victim went inside the McDonald's to seek medical attention and has minor injuries.

5:15 P.M.

23-year-old Michael Perez was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, along with other outstanding warrants, after crashing into a fence at McCarran airport on Saturday.

3:00 P.M.

The Clark County Coroner identified 18-year-old Eric Brooks from Las Vegas as the victim in a shooting at a park on Friday. READ MORE.

1:35 P.M.

UPDATE: The suspect involved in a shooting at the 200 block of Caddy Bag Court was taken into custody, along with two other individuals. Police say the shooting happened around 11:32 a.m. The victim was shot multiple times by the suspect, who was his neighbor. After the shooting, the suspect took off in a vehicle and the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police are still looking for the place where they believe the suspect may have ditched his gun.

11:57 A.M.

Police are investigating a shooting in the 200 block of Caddy Bag Court, near Fort Apache and Warm Springs Roads. One adult male was injured, and another adult male is on the run.
