LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Nevada SPCA is celebrating Halloween a bit early with a free cat adoption event.

The event is called Freaky Free Feline Friday and it will take place on Oct. 25, where fees on all adult cats, six months and older, will be waived.

“With the holiday season fast approaching, it’s a wonderful time to find a feline companion," said Amy Lee, communications manager for Nevada SPCA.

Residents can adopt an adult cat for free that day, and representatives said they have many to choose from at the facility for prospective cat parents.

The shelter is quickly approaching maximum capacity with cats, so the team is looking at placing these cats into loving new homes through the feline event.

"We truly rely on our community to get involved by adopting and shortening the length of stay for any animal. We do have cats that have been here much longer than we would like, so we really want to place them into good homes," Lee said.

Adoption fees on all adult cats (any cats over the age of six months) will be waived with all cats spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

The Nevada SPCA is located at 4800 W. Dewey Dr. and opens at 10 a.m. during the week and Saturday. The phone number is 702-872-7722.
