Nevada lawmakers making progress on budget crisis

NEVADA (KTNV) — Lawmakers in Carson City are making some progress in addressing the state's budget crisis.

Mining and other mineral extraction companies will be prepaying their taxes. The measure passed through the Senate Wednesday evening with a 19-2 vote.

Nevada is currently facing a more than $1 billion budget shortfall.
