An inmate convicted in Clark County died in a Northern Nevada prison Friday afternoon.

The Nevada Department of Corrections reports 72-year-old Clarence M. Younkin died at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in the Regional Medical Facility in Carson City.

Younkin was committed from Clark County on Sept. 27, 2001, and was serving an aggregated sentence of life with the possibility of parole for sexual assault victim under 16, lewdness with a minor and kidnapping.
