LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Dozens of Nevada Army Guard soldiers are heading to Afghanistan for 10 months.
This is the first time since August 2016 any units have been deployed out of Nevada.
On Tuesday there was a mobilization ceremony for the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Company, which is based in Henderson.
The 30 soldiers being deployed specialize in defusing explosive devices and weapons of mass destruction
