According to a press release from California State University, Long Beach, 23-year-old Nohemi Gonzalez was among the 129 killed in Friday’s attack in Paris.
Gonzalez, a native of El Monte, Calif., was a junior at the university and was participating in a study abroad program. According to the university, she was studying at the Strate College of Design during the semester.
The university will have a vigil in her honor Sunday at 4 p.m.
Gonzalez is the first confirmed American casualty in the Paris terrorist attack.
