As rioters clashed with police in Washington DC, protests reached Atlanta on Wednesday as supporters of President Donald Trump continue to demonstrate against the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Officials in Georgia have been in the midst of counting ballots from last night’s dueling US Senate runoffs.

According to WXIA-TV, the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office was evacuated as a precaution. WXIA reported that there were armed militia members outside of Brad Raffensperger’s office.

Raffensperger’s top election deputy, Gabriel Sterling, said a prediction he made in early December unfortunately came soon. Reports from the US Capitol indicate that a woman was shot amid the chaos.

“I said several weeks ago that the words and actions of the President were going to get someone shot, hurt, or killed,” Sterling said. “Shots were just fired in the US Capitol. Let that sink in for a moment.”
