Steve-O released from jail after eight hours

Steve-O, an actor and stunt performer, surrendered himself to authorities Wednesday night to serve a 30-day jail sentence. However, by Thursday morning, the state of California decided he had completed his sentence.

Reports indicate that Steve-O, whose real name is Steven Glover, was released due to the notorious overcrowding of the Los Angeles County correctional system.

Glover, who rose to prominence in the early 2000s on the MTV show “Jackass,” was arrested in August when he climbed a 100-foot crane in Hollywood to protest SeaWorld. He pled no contest to trespassing and illegal use of fireworks, and was sentenced to three years probation, a $14,000 fine and the 30-day jail sentence.

On Wednesday evening, Glover posted a video on his Instagram account prior to surrendering to authorities.

On Thursday morning, he posted a picture with his dog after completing his sentence.

 

After taking a hilarious mug shot, I wound up spending less than eight hours in jail. Thanks to all of the good people at Twin Towers Correctional Facility for making my stay a great one. #yeahdude #SeaWorldSucks

According to a 2013 report from Mother Jones, Twin Towers Correctional Facility houses more than 9,000 inmates.
