School officials, police talk safety at Las Vegas conference

The 2nd annual National Student Safety and Security Conference is taking place in Las Vegas this week. The purpose of the conference is to find long and short-term solutions to deal with violence in our schools. Alicia Pattillo reporting.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The National School Safety Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas aims to address violence in schools across the country.

The three-day conference will include officials from law enforcement, school administrators, campus security guards, mental health professionals and many more.

The goal is to create a crisis management plan during the event to be studied by communities around the country.

The conference is taking place at the Sahara Hotel and Casino from Nov. 20 through 22.
