Name announced for new arena on Las Vegas Strip

A name has been selected for the new arena on the Las Vegas Strip.

It will called the T-Mobile Arena.

The wireless carrier announced it has reached a multi-year agreement with AEG and MGM Resorts International to become the name sponsor.

The new 20,000-seat arena is set to open April 6, 2016. Opening night will feature a performance by The Killers. Other events include UFC 200 in July, Harlem Globetrotters, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Dixie Chicks, Janet Jackson, UNLV/Duke college basketball, and the 2016 PBR World Finals.

T-Mobile customers will be able to take advantage of perks because of the deal. Those perks include being able to upgrade seats at select events, early access to ticket sales and exclusive events.
