A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Tuesday.

It was reported around 1 p.m. at Thunder Bay Avenue near Sun City Anthem Drive.

The 25-year-old Henderson man was riding a 2014 Suzuki Enduro motorcycle northbound on Sun City Anthem Drive approaching the intersection of Thunder Bay Avenue when the driver of a 2008 Toyota Prius turned left in front of him.

The motorcycle rider, who was the sole occupant, crashed into the Prius and became separated from the motorcycle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet. The man was the registered owner of the motorcycle, and did have a valid motorcycle driver’s license.

Investigators say the driver of the Prius failed to yield at the intersection. The roadway was closed for about three hours while fatal accident investigators conducted their investigation.

The 69-year-old female driver from Henderson was uninjured. She voluntarily submitted to blood testing, but did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after he has been positively identified and his family has been notified.

The man’s death was the eleventh traffic-related fatality in Henderson this year.
