A motorcyclist died in a crash with a truck Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. near Spring Mountain Road and Edmond Street, which is between Lindell Road and Decatur Boulevard. Police said a Dodge Ram exited a private driveway onto Spring Mountain and crossed all the lanes of the road in an attempt to get to a parking lot on the other side. As the Dodge was going across the roadway, a Suzuki motorcycle struck the right corner of the Dodge.

The motorcycle overturned and the rider was ejected. He slid for about 30 feet on the sidewalk before hitting a trash can attached to a bus stop.

The 38-year-old rider was taken to UMC Trauma in critical condition where he later died. The coroner identified him as John Feldser of Las Vegas.

The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene. Neither the driver nor his passenger were injured.

Westbound Spring Mountain Road at Hauck Street was closed for the investigation.

This was the 30th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2016. The crash remains under investigation.
